The Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development Vienna (RCE Vienna) is the regional network for research, education and knowledge interactions on questions related to regional and trans-regional sustainable development and socio-ecological transformations.

The RCE Vienna is an UN certified science-society interface that aims at transdisciplinary research and transformative education in the area of sustainable development and socio-ecological transformations.

We aim towards a sustainable society where people engage actively with their socio-ecological systems through an open learning process. By applying transformative education we want to foster people’s out of the box thinking in order to participate in constructing a sustainable society.

RCE Vienna and RITA

The RCE Vienna was founded in 2011 at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien) and is part of a network with more than 170 RCEs worldwide (Link zur RCE Weltkarte). Within RITA, the RCE Vienna will provide research and activities related to transformative education and learning for change.
